O Sindicato foi fundado em 27 de março de 1932, por José Faustino (memória) e reconhecido pelo Ministério do Trabalho em 31 de dezembro de 1933, com a denominação de Sindicato dos Arrumadores de São Paulo que, posteriormente, sofreu outras alterações em sua razão social, conforme segue:

     Em 1971, houve a primeira alteração, originária da Fusão dos Sindicatos: Carregadores e Ensacadores de Café e dos Arrumadores, Ambos de São Paulo, através do processo MTPS Nº 112.051/69, transformado numa só Entidade Sindical, passando a denominar-se: Sindicato dos Trabalhadores no Comércio Armazenador de São Paulo, Carta Sindical assinada pelo Excelentíssimo Senhor Ministro do Trabalho Julio Barata, em 16 de agosto de 1971, representativo no Comércio Armazenador, do plano da Confederação Nacional dos Trabalhadores no Comércio (CNTC).

     Em 28 de agosto de 1988, a Categoria foi reconhecida como DIFERENCIADA, através da Portaria Nº 3.204/88, pelo Exmo. Sr. Ministro Almir Pazzianotto.

     No dia 29 de Outubro de 1990, houve a 2ª alteração, para: Sindicato dos Trabalhadores na Movimentação de Mercadorias em Geral de São Paulo, através do Processo Nº 24.000.002/90, publicado no D.O.U. de 17 de julho de 1990, em conformidade com a Instrução Normativa Nº 09/90,

     Por fim, oriundo do Processo Nº 460000.009664/96, com fundamento na Portaria 343/00, foi concedido despacho publicado no D.O.U. de 30.06.1998, seção I, pág. 01 e retificado em 03.07.1998, seção I, pág. 03 referente ao processo mencionado, foi procedido nova Alteração, passando a denominar-se: Sindicato dos Trabalhadores na Movimentação de Mercadorias em Geral e Auxiliares na Administração em Geral de São Paulo, representante da Categoria Profissional Diferenciada dos Trabalhadores na Movimentação de Mercadorias em Geral e Auxiliares na Adminstração em Geral, com abrangência Intermunicipal e com a atual base territorial nos municípios de: Barueri, Carapicuíba, Diadema, Itapevi, Itaquaquecetuba, Jandira, Mauá, Osasco, Ribeirão Pires, Rio Grande da Serra, Santo André, São Caetano do Sul e São Paulo  e Inscrito no Cadastro Nacional de Pessoas Jurídicas sob nº 43.147.784/0001-98.
